Refurbishment Process
Step #1 (Design Phase)
We have seen it all and this is your chance to get as creative as you want! You can be low key or make sure EVERYONE knows it’s you taxiing up to the ramp of the local FBO. We will help you in selecting a personalized aircraft design, powerplant, color scheme, custom interior, as well as a comprehensive assessment of your avionics needs for your Fresh & New aircraft.
Step #2 (Firewall Forward Phase)
If the engine and prop have more than 1,000 hours we recommend sending them out for an overhaul. Our engine shop of choice provides a 1,000 hour two-year warranty and pro-rates the engine at $40/per hour after that. If it’s more power you want, then we simply purchase the STC and make that aircraft roar. Once again, now is your opportunity to enhance the powerplant. Of course at this time we will replace engine mounts, the exhaust system, starter, magnetos, alternators, the vacuum pump (if applicable) and all hoses associated with the engine. Our Team of experienced pilots fly every aircraft for the first few hours to ensure the proper break-in procedure is executed.
Step #3 (Airframe Phase)
Acquiring the aircraft is the most critical part of the process as well as the most challenging, but very rewarding. We will provide all the “heavy lifting” so that you can relax and enjoy the plane of your dreams. Our comprehensive acquisition process includes, but is not limited to, a full title report of all FAA records. Our Title Company partners ensure there are no liens and report all major repair 337’s. A thorough logbook inspection is performed to ensure all AD’s are within compliance. An in-depth pre-purchase inspection will be conducted looking for previous hail damage and corrosion, amongst other things that would prevent us from having a straight airframe. At times we recommend turning the pre-buy into an Annual based on the complexity of the pre-buy.
Step #4 (Paint Phase)
Prior to paint, removal of all interior plastics, side panels, carpeting and seats will be performed. We remove all control surfaces and inspection panels, and replace all external plastics. Prior to painting a complete stripping and an alodine wash prepare the aircraft for the next phase of self-etching primer. Then it’s off to the Paint Booth for your custom paint scheme. During this phase is your chance to customize your tail number with a number that is special to you.

Step #5 (Avionics Phase)
Based on your specific needs, a customized panel will be installed during this phase. We can get as sophisticated as your budget allows. We install Dynon, Garmin, Avodine, Stratus and Aspen, to name a few. A custom powder-coated metal panel will provide a sleek new look for your dream plane. We remove all prehistoric avionics and the miles of wire that typically runs through the fuselage of your old aircraft. At this point in the process, our avionics partner will install your specified choice of equipment. Don’t forget to ask about our iPad mounts and USB ports. All new avionics installations come with their manufacturer’s warranty.
